Khawaja Pervez passes away

Renowned film poet Khawaja Pervez died on June 20, 2011 at Lahore. He was 79 years old. He wrote maximum number of film songs in Pakistani movies. His first film as lyricist wasRawaj in 1965 and he got break through from one of the all time super hit and popular romantic Urdu song in the history of Pakistani movies:


- Tumhi ho Mehboob meray.. 


from film Aina (1966). He was equally popular in Urdu and Punjabi moives but penned more Punjabi songs.


- Sun way Balori Akh waleya..
- Meri Chichi da Challa Mahi la leye
 and

- Do dil ik doojay kolun door ho geye 


were some of his mega hit songs.

- Teray bina yun gharian beetin..
- Jan-e-Jan tu jo kahay..
- Dil veeran hay, teri yaad hay..



Khawaja Pervez wrote film stories as well.
His real name was Ghulam Mohayudin and he was born at Amritsar in 1932.
